Merging Bodies

In 2009 I was invited to take part in a competition for the new collection of Chi ha paura…?, a contemporary jewelry brand of Gijs Bakker. With no experience in jewelry design I questioned myself about the meaning of jewelry in accordance with the given theme Body Stories. For me a main aspect was the fact, that jewelry is used to create a certain image of yourself, but unlike fashion or make up you would even go as far as to modify your body. Think about piercings, cosmetic surgery or prosthesis. But  at what point becomes something that you add to define yourself eventually YOU?
